Dentistry Without Fear Or Anxiety For A Lifetime!
Mill Ridge Family Dental Care offers a full range of pediatric dentistry services, including education, prevention, and treatment for most dental complications.
Our Children’s Dentistry services are focused on educating children and families to develop healthy habits and prevent tooth decay, but when needed, we have the ability to repair and restore your child’s smile. We generally see patients every six months for routine check-ups and cleanings, unless your child is at high risk for tooth decay.
At what age should my child have their first dental visit?
All children should have their first visit to the dentist at 12 months of age. This is a recently changed guideline from the Canadian and American Academies of Paediatric Dentistry. Previously, it was advised that children see the dentist for the first timea at age 3. The risk that a severely destructive form of decay (Early Childhood Caries) could already be present by age 3, suggests attending at an earlier age allows preventive advice to be given and healthy habits to be established that minimize the risk of decay.
It’s never to early or too late to schedule a visit. Contact us today to put your child on a path toward a lifetime of excellent oral health.
